Heavy rains have been reported in Telangana since Tuesday and are expected to continue until Thursday. The Hyderabad Weather Department has issued an alert regarding the Heavy rainfall. The downpour has affected various districts in the state, causing flooding and waterlogging in many areas. The weather department has also warned of a possible increase in the water level of the Agneya Bangala tank, located between 3.1 and 5.8 kilometers from the coastline. In light of these conditions, the public has been advised to remain vigilant.
Several districts in Telangana, including Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Siddipet, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Mahbubnagar have experienced heavy rainfall since Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jayashankar Bhupalpalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts in Andhra Pradesh have also witnessed heavy showers. In the past 24 hours alone, Vikarabad district recorded the highest rainfall with 163.3 mm.
According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad has received the highest rainfall of 28.5 mm. Furthermore, Andhra Pradesh is expected to witness heavy rains for the next three days due to winds blowing in from the southwest direction. The Amaravati Weather Department has also issued a warning regarding the same.
The heavy rainfall has caused inconvenience to the residents of these areas, as roads have been submerged and transportation has been disrupted. The authorities have been working round the clock to ensure the safety of the citizens and provide relief measures. The public has been urged to exercise caution and avoid venturing out unnecessarily. The government has also set up helpline numbers to address any emergency situations.
The state government is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with various departments to ensure swift action in case of any untoward incidents.
