Hyderabad, July 2 (Namaste Telangana): Telangana state is rapidly making strides as a global hub for technological advancements. Soon, the state will witness the launch of another prestigious initiative called “Made in Telangana” with the aim of starting production even before the set target. In just one month, the foundation work has been completed for the establishment of the ‘Made in Telangana’ gadgets in the global market, creating employment opportunities for 35,000 individuals.
Telangana, known for its fast-paced development in the field of technology, is all set to make its mark on the global stage. The state has been at the forefront of producing smartphones and their accessories, with a focus on catering to the youth population. In electronics, it has emerged as the “Shenzhen of India.” Facilitating the production of electronic goods, the renowned Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn is directing its efforts towards achieving its goal of starting production as soon as possible. The construction of the manufacturing unit began on May 15 in Kongarakalan, Rangareddy district, under the supervision of Minister KTR. The production is expected to commence within 40 days, with plans to start manufacturing mobile phones.
With an investment of INR 4,114 crore, Foxconn, known for its production of iPhones and other electronic goods, is currently working on setting up a manufacturing unit spread over 196 acres in Kongarakalan. The first phase of the project, with an investment of INR 1,656 crore, has already taken shape. This initiative has provided employment opportunities and created job prospects for 35,000 individuals. The construction work for the factory building is progressing rapidly.
The Foxconn unit, which contributes to the world’s production capacity in electronics and is involved in manufacturing Apple’s iPhones, is set to create around 70% of its products in India. This effort by Foxconn is in line with the government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign and has been supported by Minister KT Rama Rao, who has extended all possible assistance and cooperation to the company.
The establishment of the Foxconn unit in Telangana is expected to stabilize the state’s position in the field of manufacturing electronics globally. The company, which aims to expand its operations from China to India, has shown interest in Telangana due to its stable political environment and the proactive approach of Chief Minister KCR and Minister KTR. The unit is expected to start production in Telangana within a short period of time. The state government has also extended its support to ensure that Foxconn achieves its target of creating 1.5 million job opportunities in the electronics sector.
With the steady progress being made by Telangana, the state is on track to become a global hub for electronics manufacturing, creating employment opportunities for 15 lakh individuals. The efforts of Foxconn, along with the support of the state government, are expected to contribute significantly to the growth of Telangana. Minister KTR has expressed his confidence in the success of the ‘Made in Telangana’ initiative and assured that the state is committed to following the footsteps of “Telangana Speed.”
