Elon Musk Has a Response to Woody Harrelson’s ‘SNL’ Speech Against Vax’

Elon Musk responded to Woody Harrelson’s opening monologue on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, in which he made a joke that was interpreted by many as supporting the anti-vaccine movement.

The 61-year-old No Country for Old Men actor, who made his fifth Saturday Night Live appearance, talked about reading the “craziest script” for his final appearance on the long-running NBC show in 2019.

After droning on about a variety of subjects, he eventually got to the main point of the plot, explaining to the audience: “So the movie goes like this: the biggest drug cartels in the world get together, buy up all the media and all the politicians, and force all the people in the world to stay locked in their homes.”

And individuals can only leave if they continuously use the drugs supplied by the cartels.

Who was going to buy that ridiculous idea—Harrelson continued, “threw the script away”—of being made to use drugs? All day long, I voluntarily do it.

The actor, who in his monologue called himself a “redneck hippie,” alienated several viewers with his remarks, receiving condemnation from some who thought he was pushing theories and applause from several right-wing critics.

After seeing Harrelson’s monologue posted on SNL’s verified Twitter account, billionaire industrialist Elon Musk, 51, commented on it.

“Nice one,” commented Twitter CEO Musk, who has previously made a number of contentious claims about the Covid pandemic.

While many nations were beginning their first lockdowns in the early stages of the pandemic, Musk remarked that “the coronavirus fear is dumb”—a stance he repeated in later tweets.

A few weeks later, he added, “Based on current trends, probably near zero new cases in the United States as well by the end of April,” adding that children were “basically immune” to the virus despite the danger it posed to the elderly.

Children can contract COVID; this should be noted. Children can still become seriously ill with the disease, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine, even though their symptoms are typically less severe than in adults and may not manifest at all.

When referring to the demonstrations against Canadian vaccine regulations in January, Musk wrote that “Canadian truckers reign,” giving the impression that he was on the side of those opposing vaccine mandates. Until it is completely lost, freedom is being taken away piece by piece.

Additionally, he stated to Kara Swisher of The New York Times in a 2020 interview that he would forego the COVID vaccine since “neither I nor my kids are in danger from COVID.”

In contrast, he later acknowledged in a Time interview that both he and his children had had vaccinations, and in 2021 he tweeted, “I do favor vaccines in general and COVID vaccines particularly.” The science is conclusive.

The second COVID booster shot “crushed” Musk, according to a tweet he made in January 2023. Furthermore, he stated that after receiving the vaccine, his younger relative, who he claimed to be in “top health,” was hospitalized with myocarditis.

By tweeting in December 2022, “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci,” the Tesla CEO took aim at the former White House senior medical adviser.

Fauci urged people to get immunized and wear masks during the pandemic, but his recommendations and limitations have drawn criticism from conservatives and conspiracy theorists.

Those who questioned the vaccine’s benefits and said it was hazardous turned their attention to the senior immunologist. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have consistently refuted a number of assertions made about the safety of the COVID vaccination.

Musk sent bilevel positive airway pressure or continuous positive airway pressure equipment, which aids in patient breathing, to many hospitals in California back in April 2020. Despite the fact that they are not the same as more expensive mechanical ventilators that have benefited very ill COVID patients, some hospitals told CNN they were appreciative of the assistance.

Cheers actor Woody Harrelson has previously spoken out about the pandemic.

He was one of many who promoted the idea that the virus and 5G cellular networks were somehow connected.

In a 2016 interview with Vanity Fair, he also discussed his conviction that COVID masks are ineffective at preventing the disease’s spread.

He remarked, “I find that very silly as one who does not believe in the germ theory.”
