Why India may ban pilots from wearing perfume

Pilots in India may be banned from Wearing Perfume as the country’s newly proposed aviation rules seek to achieve this.

The proposed ban is coming due to concerns about alcohol traces that may be present during breathalyser tests conducted for pilots, CNN reports Monday.

The proposal by the Office of the Director General of Civil Aviation, which oversees the country’s aviation industry stated, “No crew member shall consume any drug or formulation or use any substance such as mouthwash, tooth gel, Perfume, or any such product that has alcoholic content.

“Any crew member who is undergoing such medication shall consult the company doctor before undertaking flying assignment,” the statement reads.
