Adamawa State Police Arrest 31-Year-Old with Stolen ATM Cards


Emmynet24 News Media Reports that the Adamawa State Police Command has successfully arrested a 31-year-old individual, identified as Abubakar Tasi’u Tanimu, in possession of a cache of stolen items, including 13 ATM cards, one national identity card, and a wallet containing various documents.


The spokesperson for the Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this information in an official press statement released on Tuesday, January 2, 2023. The suspect hails from the Tsohon Kasuwa neighborhood, according to the Police spokesperson.


Tanimu was reportedly apprehended on Friday, December 29, 2023, by vigilant police operatives attached to the Department of State Intelligence during a routine surveillance patrol around Jambutu Motor Park in Jimeta, Yola.


Nguroje explained that the Stolen Atm Cards, issued by different banks and belonging to genuine owners, were traced back to a market in Mayo-Belwa, a local government area in the southern part of Adamawa State.


"Investigation reveals that the suspect stole the items from Tsohon Kasuwa Mayo Belwa Local Government Area," Nguroje stated, further revealing that the suspect was in the process of selling the stolen items at a shopping complex.


Assuring the public, Nguroje confirmed that the suspect would face legal charges once the ongoing investigation is concluded. Stay tuned for further updates on this unfolding news.
