BBNaija Season 7 Winner Accused of Abandoning Family After Fame and Fortune
The father of Josephina 'Phyna' Otabor, the victorious contestant of BBNaija Season 7, has come forward with a grievous claim that his daughter has deserted her family following her rise to fame and wealth.
Josephina, known as Phyna, clinched the grand prize of N100 million in the 2022 Bbnaija 'Level Up' edition. Her parents had initially believed that their financial struggles were over, but to their dismay, their circumstances remained unchanged.

In an interview with Vanguard, Mr. Felix Otabor, Phyna's father, revealed that the day his daughter was declared the winner of BBNaija Season 7 in 2022 marked the last time they saw her. He alleged that she vanished and abandoned them once she received the prize money.
Mr. Otabor further claimed that Phyna had urged him to quit his job as a hearse driver but failed to provide assistance when he complied, rendering him jobless.
He expressed, "I haven't seen Phyna, my daughter, since she won BBNaija 'Level Up' edition last year. She hasn't returned home since then. I don't know why? I am a professional hearse driver, and when she won the reality TV show, she asked me to do away with all my old cars, promising to change my life. But since then, I haven't seen her. And I don't have a car again. Once in a while, the Vice-Chairman of our association will allow me to drive his car."
Mr. Otabor sold all his four cars following his daughter's victory, thinking that their prayers had been answered. Phyna had advised him to part with his old vehicles, with the promise of improving his life upon her return. However, she never fulfilled that promise.
The 68-year-old ambulance car driver disclosed that Phyna no longer answers their calls and that he has lost contact with her. He expressed his desperation, saying, "I am even looking for somebody that will give me a car on hire purchase. I need help; it has come to that point. I don't want to die in silence."
As for the reasons behind Phyna's apparent estrangement, Mr. Otabor professed to have no knowledge of her whereabouts or the motivation behind her actions. He mentioned that he only sees her on Facebook or Instagram when she shares new photos on these platforms.
