Leah Sharibu, Kidnapped Christian Schoolgirl, Reportedly 'Remarries' Terrorist Commander After Divorce

In a distressing development, Leah Sharibu, the Christian schoolgirl who was abducted by members of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has allegedly entered into another marriage with a terrorist commander following her divorce from her initial forced husband.

Leah's harrowing ordeal began when she and more than 100 schoolmates were kidnapped from Government Girls Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State, on February 19, 2018. Reports from a few years ago indicated that she was married off and had become a mother.

According to local security sources, Leah Sharibu, after obtaining a divorce from her first husband named Abdulrahman, has now remarried to another ISWAP commander in the Lake Chad region, identified as Ali Abdallah.

The source revealed, "Leah was initially married to Abdulrahman after an alleged conversion to Islam, and they have two sons who were named after two deceased Boko Haram commanders." The circumstances leading to the divorce remain unclear.

Following her abduction, Leah Sharibu reportedly underwent training in providing medical services to injured Boko Haram fighters and women, highlighting one of the tactics employed by terrorists in the North East, which involves forcing captives with specialized skills to train their members.

The source further noted, "She was trained as a medical personnel and currently leads the ISWAP medical team in the northern part of the Lake Chad area."

In a recent sighting, Leah, her purported husband, and other fighters were observed in the Dogon Chukwun kangarwa area. However, they are facing persecution from a Boko Haram commander loyal to Shekau, identified as Malam Bakura.

Reports also indicate that a substantial ISWAP contingent has initiated a migration from the area through the Guzamala forest, carrying a cache of dangerous arms, with their route passing through various locations, including Cross, Mosquito camp, Garin-giwa (where the Zulum's convoy was attacked), Munguno, and Gajiram.
