Breaking News: Federal Government Declares Public Holiday for Eid-ul-Maulid Celebration
In a recent announcement, the Federal Government has declared Wednesday, September 27, 2023, as a public holiday to mark the significant occasion of Eid-ul-Maulid, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The statement was issued on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade. The Minister extended warm congratulations to Muslims across the nation on the observance of this year's Eid-ul-Maulid.
Furthermore, Minister Tunji-Ojo encouraged all individuals to embrace the values of love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance, which were exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He emphasized the importance of fostering unity and peaceful coexistence among youths, regardless of differences in faith, ideology, social class, or ethnicity.
