But is "the science settled?" Not really.
Hydroxychloroquine has been safely used for 65 years to treat a number of medical problems, but there are quite a few people in the anti-hydroxychloroquine who seem to be fear-mongering with accusations of horrible side effects. Sadly, much of it seems driven by hatred for President Trump, who has advocated for the use of the drug.
