Destiny Etiko is a Nigerian-born Nollywood actress who came to the spotlight after playing the lead role of “Ekemma” in the award-winning movie titled Idemili. She was born on the 12th of August, 1989, in Udi, She is currently 33 years old. Destiny hails from Udi in Enugu state, she is the second child from a family of 5 children.

She attended Zik Avenue Primary School, Enugu where she obtained her first school leaving certificate, she proceeded to Queens School for her secondary education. After secondary school, Destiny headed to Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka where she bagged a degree in theatre art. All these academic activities prepared her for the life she’s living now, as an actress.

Destiny Etiko started her acting career as a child actor, her mum was also an actress and that stirred up her passion for the industry. She registered with the Actors Guild of Nigeria in 2011 and that made her an official member of Nollywood.

Her big break came in 2014 when she featured in Idemili. After that, she featured in so many other movies back to back. From that period till today, she has been able to carve a name for herself in the movie industry and has grown to become a household name in Nollywood.

Destiny Etiko has a beautiful physical appearance and this has spread rumours about her curvy shape being the factor behind her popularity in the industry, however, she has debunked the rumour. According to her, having a nice body shape isn’t what has brought her great success in the industry as most people presume, but rather hard work and God’s grace brought her this far.

She has shared the screen with top Nollywood actors and actresses like Yul Edochie, John Okafor, Patience Ozokwor, Pete Edochie, Mercy Johnson and Ken Erics among others.

Husband

Most people assume Destiny Etiko to be married. These assumptions sprang up as a result of the many wedding pictures of Destiny on the internet. However, Destiny is not married. All the pictures that had her putting on a wedding gown were from a movie set, she has never been married before. Fans have been eager to see or hear about her wedding, but as it stands she’s not married yet.

She once mentioned in an Instagram post that she’s looking forward to marrying a man who understands her passion for acting and would help her excel in the industry as she’s not willing to give up her acting career for any reason.

Earlier this year Destiny revealed that she was in a relationship, she even posted a picture of her boyfriend and said she’ll notify the public when it leads to marriage.

Family

Destiny Etiko has a cordial relationship with her family, her mum inspired her into becoming an actress. According to her, her father never wanted her to go into acting because he feared she wouldn’t be able to manage her career and her family life, however, her mum gave her all the support she needed.

Her dad came around later when he saw that she could handle it.  Unfortunately, she lost her dad to the cold hands of death on 15th May 2020 and he was laid to rest on 22nd May 2020.
