Becoming a teacher is a great achievement…

- Worked at the ticket booth of talkies and scratched the boards of cinemas!

- Daudbhai Ghanchi

- 'Main akela hi chala tha janib-e-manjil magar, log saath ate rahe aur kafila became.'

Be brave, one day you will be fatteh,

Even if it's late, but morning is necessary.

'Main akela hi chala tha janib-e-manjil magar, log saath aate rahe aur kafila bantanta gaya'... this inspirational quote by Majruh Sultanpuri has been repeated frequently by Vidyapurush Daudbhai Ghanchi. When he was giving a speech in a meeting, his eloquence, fluent flow of experience, enthusiasm in words and Gita verse or Shayari would create a unique atmosphere. Today, when I think about his life, it seems that Daudbhai Ghanchi is the symbol of how an unparalleled academic can be achieved single-handedly.

He was born in a middle class Muslim Ghanchi family. His family's business was home industry in Telghani. The ghani was driven by oxen and the family was supported on its income. As it was difficult to make ends meet, they used to sell other sundries besides oil for supplementary income. Also, they kept one or two buffaloes and sold their milk to generate supplementary income. Poverty is such that the entire family is involved in this economic acquisition and due to this, the education of maximum hard work, frugality and good earning is automatically available to the entire family.

At that time Kalol had a primary school from class one to six run by the Gaikwadi regime. He studied here. His routine of sitting and studying in the classroom with good manners and the teachers of that time were also fond of the students. Daudbhai passed the matriculation examination of Mumbai University after completing his school studies. At this time, along with school studies, Dilawar of Kalol worked as a ticket counter in Dilawar Talkies and also painted the boards of the cinema house to support the household. After exercising in the gym with his friends, he would go straight to work. At the time of farewell, the principal of the school J. P. Parikhsaheb blessed the Student Daudbhai by beating his chest, 'You will be a good Teacher of English language. Go! Welfare tax.' These blessings of Guru became a lifelong source of inspiration for Daudbhai.

In October 1944, Daudbhai had to bear the wounds of three deaths one after the other. Eleven-year-old younger brother Mohammad succumbed to a cholera epidemic. After that, his father died of asthma and his grandfather died of old age. The departure of these individuals became a problem for them and their business. Hence Daudbhai decided to organize the operations of oil extraction, milk sale and retail trade and also accepted the job of a temporary clerk in Kalol's court. Financial difficulties eased and again remembering the blessings of the Guru who 'became a teacher of English language', he decided to stay in Kalol and study Vinyan in a good college in Ahmedabad. From Kalol to Ahmedabad he used to come by train every day and have two rotis made by his mother and then get down at Kalopur station and have a meal with vegetables from the Irani hotel opposite the station. Then they reached Gujarat College on foot via Ritchie Road from Ellis Bridge.

Here his academic talent shined. Got excellent results in the first year and got a scholarship. Also got scholarship for standing first in Int2 along with hostel fee waiver. During all this time Daudbhai used to deposit his income directly in the hands of Maa. Athiye used to help more in her house as well as in her elder sister's house. Giving all necessary help and guidance to the younger brother and cousins for their studies and medicine. In this college, he was getting a monthly scholarship of twelve rupees, but here Prof. Feroze Dawar, Prof. T. N. Dave and Dr. Got an opportunity to study with teachers like Dhirubhai Thakar.

B.A. After that he decided to become a teacher. Worked in Ahmedabad for a few months, but then obeyed the local insistence and came to Vakharia High School in his native Kalol. Here he taught English, Sanskrit and History subjects. B.Ed in Prakash College, Ahmedabad. He did and as a result he also got the prestigious post of Vice-Chancellor. His talent as a young talented teacher began to blossom here.

After that the school teacher Daudbhai planned to train teachers and started it from Prakash College of Education. After that, Vidyanagar's H.M. Patel joined the college as a lecturer. Prof. Seattle University who came from America for his academic work here. Swarts was deeply impressed and prompted to apply for a Fulbright scholarship. As a result of this S. In 1966-67, Daudbhai taught for one year at Seattle High School. He has received American Fulbright scholarship three times each

The decisions he made and his reaction to the challenging circumstances of life gradually strengthened his morale. In one of the ceremonies, he asked Pujya Moraribapu to give him his black shawl which was draped over his shoulder. We were stunned to hear his demand, but Pujya Moraribapu covered him with his black shawl. Thus self-awareness and self-confidence were constantly seen in the life of Daudbhai.

During the Navnirman movement of 1974, when the students of Modasa College campus were going in a procession towards the village, the storm took a communal color. There was great excitement among the students. At the time of arrival, Dr. Dhirubhai Thacker and Dr. Daudbhai Ghanchi was going through the crowd of students persuading them, saying, 'Given the population and circumstances of the village, everyone should disperse', but as the procession proceeded, both Dhirubhai Thakar and Daudbhai went to the bus stand of the village and saw off the students safely in the bus. Then came home.

Daudbhai's son Dr. Farooq Ghanchi, recording this event, writes, 'The impression of these two heroes who went out without worrying about their own safety to maintain the safety of students and communal harmony is intact on the mind. This incident of his boldness and courage became a source of inspiration for the entire family throughout their lives.'

All festivals are celebrated with joy in Daudbhai's house. Diwali lights and rangoli, firecrackers, Holi gop, dusty gulal, Navratri garba, Paryushan's fast if it is Paryushan's fast, the processions of two Eids, Christmas and especially Santa Claus 'Dada' have been integrally intertwined with their personality since childhood.

As a teacher very demanding of discipline and time. Accuracy in work is important, if there is a mistake, they are not out of attention and will not drive it, but their women are very loving. One of the puppies born while they were in the house of Modasa College campus was adopted by the family. Once for some reason he got a big wound on his back leg. Daudbhai groomed it properly. For days he cleaned Lalia's wound and filled her with medicine, gave her bread and milk and Lalio became her loyal companion. Daudbhai used to accompany him when he went to office and returned home with him in the evening.

He remains a force of inspiration and encouragement to his students, colleagues and family. This Daudbhai gave Gujarat the identity of true teacherhood. He imparted the knowledge contained in books to his students, but at the same time he imparted life education to his students and hence the transformative work done by this sage Sandipani of North Gujarat as Principal of Modasa Education College and then as Acting Chancellor of North Gujarat University continues to be a role model for teachers even today.

Has held the post of Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor of the University for nine years. It says, 'A teacher cannot be bound by class or subject. Becoming a teacher is a great achievement.' As Sama Daudbhai (born: 31-7-1927), the ideal of teacherhood for today's and tomorrow's generation, is about to die, we remember the educational revolution he made and this Kalam of Ghalib, often heard from his mouth, will be remembered.

'Maujon ka takaja hai, friends,

Kahan tak chlange coast to coast?'

anecdotal

Navratri: Who will stop this black night?

Ramesh said to Mahesh: 'My younger brother Lalit is a very lazy person. He never saw the sunrise. When the sun comes up at midday, that lazy gentleman barely gets out of bed.'

Mahesh asked, 'What does Lalit eat and drink?'

'Hey! Very sedentary. Don't even mention getting up. He should eat food where he is sitting. It is good that no cockroaches are put in his mouth or no cockroaches are chewed instead. Otherwise he would have done that too!'

Mahesh said, 'I have never seen such a lazy person.' So he asked, 'So what will be Lalit's height?'

Ramesh said, 'Hey, don't talk about height. I never saw him stand up.'

We remembered this because for years women have been worshiped as goddesses in this country, but in fact women are the first victims of violence everywhere, be it war or home. Even today, a woman is treated as a witch and is often persecuted. Be it riots, riots or wars, the faces of people who parade women naked on the streets do not turn in shame. On one hand there is talk of women empowerment and women empowerment, on the other hand women live in fear in cities like Delhi.

Kanyapaojan is done here, Navratri is celebrated here, Goddess is worshiped, but today many women have to experience black night in their life, what about it?
