Ek Asha Hai Bahut Kuch Kar Dikhane Ke Liye

"If you want to meet the Chief Minister, come to my OPD, I don't meet anyone at my house."

It so happened that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was going to come to Varanasi and that Sunday he was going to meet prominent people living in that city. At this time, naturally, on the Republic Day of January 26, 2016, the 'Padma Shri' decorated Dr. It was decided to hold a meeting with Tapankumar Lahri. Officials went to Tapankumar Lahri's residence two or three times, but did not meet him, as the doctor spent most of his time in the OPD. When finally met on Saturday evening, Dr. Lahri asked, 'What is my job? Why have you all come here with so many rasalas?'

The officials said, 'The Chief Minister wants to meet you. We have come to inform you about it.'

'Chief Minister? Why come to see me? And look, I don't meet anyone in my house. If you want to meet, come to the OPD.'

The officers were stunned. However, the cleaning drive continued around the area in view of the Chief Minister's arrival. After that the employees Prof. Entered Lahri's house to clean, then Dr. Tapankumar Lahri asked him to get out.

Seeing this mind of the doctor, the officials canceled the program of Yogi Adityanath to meet the doctor without taking any risk. This news quickly returned to the city of Varanasi. Those who knew the doctor were not at all surprised. He knew that this doctor had nothing to do with politics. Also, they stay less at home and spend more time in OPD. Dr. Lahri retired from BHU in 2003. If he had wanted to, he could have opened a luxury hospital in Banaras or any other city in the country and made a fortune like his colleagues, but he believed that he had retired from work, not from serving the public through medicine.

After that he continues to render his service in BHU and that too for free. Especially Prof. Out of the pension money Lahri gets, she keeps the money for her food and donates the rest.

There is only one bed in the furniture of their house. Especially his time discipline is such that people can find the time in their clocks when they enter the institution. Arrive at a fixed time and leave at a fixed time. Prof. Seeing his service and his love for patients, the institute awarded him 'Emeritus Professor'. Prof. Lahri is a famous cardiologist and people compare him to Dr. Bidhanchandra does with Roy.

Born in Kolkata Prof. Lahri studied in America and then started his medical practice starting as a lecturer. He did not get married so that he could serve the poor day and night. When he retired, many reputed hospitals in America offered him to work there, but his mind remained attached to this charitable institution founded by Madanmohan Malviyaji.

In 1997, his salary was 84,000 Rs. and together with other allowances, his total salary was more than one lakh. After 1997, he started donating his salary to help the needy patients. He retired after working for a long time at Banaras Hindu University's Sir Sundarlal Hospital, but still treats patients free of charge at the age of 81. After retirement, he donates most of his expenses to treat poor patients. Even today he comes to the BHU hospital on time every day and sits in the OPD and treats the patients. The provident fund that he got, he also donated to the service of patients. For the patient this doctor is God, for the doctor the patient is Narayana!

Today, people from as far as Uttar Pradesh and Bihar come to see this expert doctor and are amazed at his service. Prof. Lahri does not keep any phone with him and does not hire any servant to clean the house. Whether he is at home or in the hospital, only the watchmen at the Naria gate of the hospital can tell. They cook their own food and their flat has a few chairs, a cot and a gas cylinder. He considers Baba Vishwanath and Mata Annapurna as his idols.

Some time ago he also refused to meet the former Prime Minister of India Shri Chandrasekhar. So once the chancellor Prof. He asked Lahri to come to his residence and treat him. The university was managed under the umbrella of the Chancellor. The hospital was being managed, refused them clearly and said, 'You come to the OPD, I will treat you well.'

Prof. No one was shocked to hear this answer of Tapankumar Lahri, because everyone knew the honesty and self-respect of this doctor very well. There is no big or small before him. All the same. 'National Doctors' Day' is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Dr. Bidhanchandra Roy on 1st July. On this day they give charity to the needy.

Today this cardiologist is considered an 'angel' in Banaras. The reason is that today the hearts of millions of poor patients are beating because of this doctor. If he had not received help, he would not have been able to undergo expensive treatment due to lack of money. This is why Dr. Lahri is seen as an 'angel'.

Why people consider doctor as God? The answer is Prof. It comes from Lahri Sahib's methodology. Nowadays, medicine has become a business rather than a religion in many places. Somewhere there is an attempt to increase the amount of the bill by keeping the dead body on the ventilator. Somewhere it is considered more profitable to leave a government job and open a multi-crore hospital with a private practice. Some have tie-ups with drug companies and pathology centers for a small commission. Even when such a situation prevails, Prof. T.K. Doctors like Lahri are found. There are more good people than bad people on this earth and that is why this world is going on. For the last thirty years, Dr. Lahri has trained dedicated doctors under his tutelage.

A real idol of service is Dr. Lahri doesn't even have its own motor. While other doctors prefer to live comfortably, Dr. Lahri is not involved in any such race. Even today he walks from his home to the hospital.

Today, when the race of materialism is on and earning has become the only aim, Prof. Lahri's life is a beacon. There are good and bad people in every profession, but the fragrance of good and gentleman gives dignity to the profession and remains an example of humanity. Today Mr. T. who is decorated with 'Padma Shri'. K. Lahari is one such example of humanity, due to which serious heart disease patients are rising from the death bed and living everyday life. have risen from dying tragically for lack of money for treatment.

Politics: Not service, earning work!

Lal Bahadur Shastri got the ministership in the central government. He came to Delhi, but was still trying to get a good house in his Allahabad. They wanted to rent a house at a low price, so they could not get a house in a good location for that much money. Can't give more money himself. Also, he was such a minister that even if he was denied a house, he would never hold a grudge against him.

Finally, this Union minister got a small house on rent in Muthiganj, Allahabad. There was hardly enough space for six or seven people to sit and talk comfortably. Hence when Lal Bahadur Shastri came to Allahabad from Delhi, the whole house would be filled. People would sit on the road if they increased. There used to be a crowd around him, because everyone felt Lal Bahadur as their own. Even the ordinary worker of the district would rush to meet him. Light and telephone system in the house was barely established. He works from morning to evening. One day at night his friend Pyarelal Srivastava came to visit him. Lal Bahadur Shastri, one of the three leaders of the Congress party, was in an important position in the 1962 election campaign. Lalbahadur Shastri made his friend sit by his bed. Pyarelal saw that there was a sheet on the common bed and a pillow on the head.

Even after coming to Delhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri would return home after working late into the night to find children sleeping in cots. He should quietly lay a sheet on the ground and spend two and a half nights in bed. Even when Lal Bahadur Shastri became the Prime Minister, he slept on a cot, where did he get the bed?

Seeing this situation, his wife Lalitadevi would often smile and say, 'Shastriji, will make us live under the tree.'

He remembered this because the simplicity of today's politicians has gained a lot of popularity and politicians have started living in peace.

Investigation is going on today regarding economic crimes against some ministers. Also, there has been a land-land gap between the properties of several MLAs before they were members of the legislature and after they became MLAs.

A simplicity like Lal Bahadur is most needed today for the progress of the country and to fight corruption.
