Talk of Delhi: Signs of a break in the NDA in Tamil Nadu

NEW DELHI: AIADMK-turned NDA is on the verge of a rift following Tamil Nadu state BJP president Annamalai's comments about Jayalalithaa. AIADMK has also suspended the discussion of alliance with BJP for the Lok Sabha elections and has given an ultimatum that there will be no alliance if action is not taken against Annamalai. Annamalai said that Jayalalitha was punished in a corruption case. In fact Jayalalitha's sentence was passed while the case was pending in the Supreme Court, so technically she was not punished.

The BJP leader believes that Tamil Nadu is an important state for the BJP and AIADMK's support is necessary to win in Tamil Nadu. There is also a discussion going on that Modi will contest the Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu to win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu. Rumors are also going on that South superstar Rajinikanth will be fielded in the BJP campaign. Action can be taken against Annamalai as all these plans of BJP will come back if AIADMK fails.

Amit Shah angry with Shinde's five ministers

In Maharashtra, a new conflict has started between the BJP and the Shiv Sena after Amit Shah expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance of five ministers of the Eknath Shinde Government. Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis recently met Shah on the Cabinet expansion issue. Shah expressed displeasure at that time saying that the performance of Abdul Sattar, Tanaji Sawant, Gulabrao Patil, Sandeepan Bhumre and Sanjay Rathot was extremely poor. Shah is also said to have asked to replace these five ministers and appoint new ministers in their place. Eknath Shinde is not ready for that so there is a new conflict between BJP and Shiv Sena.

BJP leader Shah denies expressing any displeasure but Shiv Sena leader admits that BJP has objections against some ministers. However, Shinde is forced to save them. If Shinde does not protect them, they will go back to Uddhav's camp, so Shinde cannot believe Shah's words.

Priyanka's first shot, announcing five guarantees

While the BJP is stuck in internal factionalism in Madhya Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi has given five guarantees to the people, giving a boost to the Congress election campaign. Priyanka has announced that if Congress comes to power in Madhya Pradesh, every woman will be given 1500 rupees per month and a gas cylinder will be given for 500 rupees. Apart from this, every household will get 100 units of electricity for free, the old pension scheme for government employees will be implemented and farmers' loans will be waived off.

Priyanka announced that we will fulfill the guarantee that I am giving today 100 percent. We made a promise in Karnataka as well and we have implemented it as soon as we became the government.

The aggressiveness of the Congress has created anxiety in the BJP. The BJP leader believes that the BJP will also have to adopt this kind of strategy to confront the Congress.

Kejriwal on a platform with 'corrupt' Sibal

Kapil Sibal's presence on the stage in Arvind Kejriwal's meeting at Ramlila Maidan has created a surprise in the Aam Aadmi Party itself. Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP and former Congress minister Kapil Sibal sat right next to Kejriwal at a rally in Delhi against the Centre's ordinance giving more powers to the lieutenant governor. AAP leaders say that Sibal was present as a SP representative.

When Sibal was in Congress, he had a big clash with Kejriwal. When Kejriwal released the list of corrupt leaders, Sibal's name was at the top. Kejriwal called Sibal one of the most corrupt leaders of the country. Sibal and his son Amit also filed a defamation case against Kejriwal. Kejriwal alleged that Amit appeared in court to defend a telecom company when Kapil Sibal was the telecom minister. In this defamation case, Kejriwal got rid of all the allegations by apologizing.
