Although domestically, on the one hand, there has been a decrease in the import of urea, on the other hand, there has been an increase in the import of di-ammonium phosphate DAP and complex fertilizers. The prices of various fertilizers have also gone up in the world market. The impact of the war between Russia and Yapcrane has recently been seen on the prices of fertilizers as well as other commodities in the world market. The burden of subsidy on this matter has also increased on the government amid the boom in the world market and the sustained high prices of imports of fertilizers other than urea in the country. Meanwhile, according to Khatar Import Cores, the import of urea in the country has decreased by around 24 to 25 per cent to 29 to 30 Lakh Tonnes in the period from April to September this year, which was around 39 to 40 lakh tonnes in this period last year. The domestic production of urea in the country has increased from 119 to 120 lakh tonnes in a period of 6 months to about 139 to 140 lakh tonnes. The price in the world market was around 980 to 990 dollars per tonne in December 2021, it reached close to 600 dollars in August this year.
