Scholarships are available for the following levels of studies: Postgraduate Certificate (6 months), Postgraduate Diploma (1 year), Master’s Degree (1 – 2 years), or PhD (3 – 4 years), except for Brunei and Singapore, where only PhD studies are supported.

Preferred fields of study should align with the development needs of your country, such as renewable energy, agriculture, fisheries, disaster risk management, natural resource management, health, and education. You can find specific preferred subjects for your country on the official website.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions:

The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholar Award covers the following expenses:

• Full tuition fees
• A living allowance paid fortnightly
• An establishment allowance
• Medical and travel insurance
• Travel between your home country and New Zealand at the start and end of your scholarship
• Home leave or reunion travel for some eligible scholars
• Pastoral and academic support at your institution
• Assistance with research and thesis costs for most postgraduate research students

Eligibility:

To be eligible for a New Zealand Scholarship, applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

• Be a minimum of 18 years of age when commencing the scholarship.
• Hold citizenship in the country from which you are applying for a scholarship and have resided in that country for at least the past two years.
• Commit to returning to your home country for a minimum of two years upon completing the scholarship.
