Our hearts ache but we cherish the memories – Nacee on KODA’s passing

The Music community is grappling with the loss of Nana Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, better known as KODA, who passed away on Sunday. Tributes have flooded social media platforms, reflecting the profound impact he had on his fans and fellow musicians alike.

Among the mourners, Nana Osei, also known as Nacee, shared a heartfelt tribute on X (formerly Twitter), praising KODA's passion and dedication to the music industry. Nacee highlighted KODA's ability to weave beautiful stories through his music, expressing gratitude for the memories they shared. He concluded with a poignant farewell, acknowledging KODA's journey and legacy.

KODA's hit song “Nkwa Bodoo” (Bread of Life) earned him accolades, including the Record of The Year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 2015. Music group Joyful Way Incorporated also extended their condolences, recognizing KODA's significant contributions to the industry.

Members of KODA's Year Group, Mfantsipim Old Boys (MOBA '96), expressed deep sadness at his passing, underscoring the profound impact he had on their lives.

Known for his soothing vocals, soul-inspiring melodies, and mastery of the lead guitar, KODA was born on December 15, 1978, in Sekondi-Takoradi, Western Region. As a singer, songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist, KODA amassed an impressive body of work throughout his career.

His discography includes beloved songs such as “Nsem Pii,” “Adooso,” “Guide Me O,” and “Obiara Nte Se Wo” (No One Like You). In 2021, he released his sixth vocal album titled “Keteke.”

KODA's talent garnered him numerous accolades, including the Producer of the Year award at the Africa Gospel Music Awards in 2014. He collaborated with various gospel groups and artists, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

As the music community mourns his loss, KODA's legacy lives on through his timeless music and the lives he touched with his artistry and passion.
