In a statement dated Monday, April 15th, 2024, the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) addressed errors and omissions in the nominations list following a one-week window for submissions from the stakeholder community.
After careful evaluation, the board confirmed that there were no errors or omissions in the nominations list, except for two notable corrections:
Lonely Road by O'Kenneth & Xlim Kid
Originally submitted as a featured work, ‘Lonely Road' by O'Kenneth & Xlim Kid has been corrected to reflect the joint project status of both artists.
The board acknowledged the clarification from the management of both artists and amended the nomination accordingly to ‘Lonely Road, by O'Kenneth and Xlim Kid.'
Kwaku Ananse by Amerado
The original version of ‘Kwaku Ananse' by Amerado was nominated in the Best Highlife Song Category instead of the remix version, affecting its consideration for the Most Popular Song of the Year category. Upon review, the board has nominated the original version of ‘Kwaku Ananse' in the Best Highlife Song category and also included it in the Most Popular Song of the Year category.
The TGMA Board emphasized its commitment to fairness in the awards process and expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their active participation during the Errors & Omissions window. The board congratulated all nominees for their exceptional work in 2023 and wished them the best of luck at the upcoming 25th-anniversary edition of the TGMA.
