NDP delays decision on Ejisu by-election candidate, focuses on inclusivity

The National Democratic Party (NDP) has announced that presenting a candidate for the upcoming Ejisu by-election is not currently a priority for the party. During a press engagement, Alhaji Frimpong, the General Secretary of the NDP, stated that the party is still in the process of organizing ahead of the 2024 general election and would only consider participating in the by-election if the regional unit deems it necessary.

Frimpong highlighted that the party is currently focused on internal discussions, with an upcoming meeting with the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) on April 9. He emphasized that deciding on participation in the Ejisu by-election will depend on the regional body's demand but stressed that it is not a priority at the moment.

Additionally, Frimpong called on Political Parties to prioritize communal inclusivity and participation in governance. He argued that allowing community members to contribute ideas fosters societal development and criticized the trend of parties focusing solely on manifestos and infrastructure during election years. Frimpong urged political parties to prioritize inclusivity and participation in governance to safeguard public resources effectively.

The NDP also revealed plans to release an effective roadmap in the coming months ahead of the 2024 general elections, indicating the party's commitment to strategic planning and preparation for the electoral process.
