Man narrowly escapes death after multiple stabs during robbery attempt

Mr. Richard Amoah, a 37-year-old resident of Tema Community One Site 15, narrowly escaped death after being stabbed multiple times by an unidentified man during a robbery attempt. The incident occurred on Monday, March 25, 2024.

According to Mr. Charles Amos, the Assemblyman of the Padmore Electoral Area, the unidentified man stabbed Mr. Amoah several times as he struggled to reclaim items stolen from his room. The thief managed to escape with two mobile phones and GH¢300 before the incident was reported to the Tema Community One police station.

Community members intervened by screaming for help upon witnessing the altercation, ultimately saving Mr. Amoah's life. However, theft is reportedly common in the area, particularly around Site 500 and its surroundings.

Mr. Amoah recounted waking up at around 02:00 hours to find the unidentified man searching his room. Upon confronting the thief, he chased him outside the house, where the assailant stabbed him multiple times before fleeing to Site 500.

Mr. Amoah was rushed to the Lagoon clinic at Tema Community One for treatment by his neighbours. The incident highlights the urgent need for authorities and the Ghana Police Service to address the rising crime rate in the community and prevent it from becoming a breeding ground for social vices.
