NDC Parliamentary Candidate donates GH¢ 25,000 to Boate Timber Market fire victims

Mr. Samuel Aboagye, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East, has extended a helping hand to the fire victims of the Boate Timber Market in Obuasi by donating GH¢ 25,000.00.

The donation follows a recent devastating fire that ravaged the Market, causing significant losses to the traders, with their wares worth thousands of cedis destroyed.

Accompanied by party leaders, Mr. Aboagye expressed his sympathy and solidarity with the victims, assuring them of assistance in relocating to the new timber market if the current administration fails to do so by 2025.

He emphasized the need for expedited action by the Assembly to relocate the market, highlighting the importance of providing support to cushion the affected operators and traders.

Furthermore, Mr. Aboagye pledged to establish a factory to process sawdust into charcoal and plywood, aiming to create more job opportunities within the timber market.

The donation aims to alleviate the plight of the victims as they recover from the disaster and rebuild their businesses. Mr. Aboagye encouraged the affected traders to remain hopeful and resilient, urging them not to allow the setback to deter their entrepreneurial spirit.

Mr. William Kofi Adzowu, the Constituency Secretary, reiterated the party's concern for the affected traders and emphasized the importance of adequate resources for the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and other relevant organizations to enhance emergency response capabilities.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the affected traders, Mr. Eric Asamoah, Chairman of the Boete Timber Market Association, lauded Mr. Aboagye for his generous gesture, stating that it would significantly contribute to relieving the hardships faced by the victims.
