President Akufo-Addo revokes Hohoe MCE appointment, nominates replacement

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has taken the decision to revoke the appointment of Mr. Daniel Noble Awume as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Hohoe. Subsequently, Mr. Francis Fiakpui has been nominated to assume the position previously held by Mr. Awume.

A statement issued by Mr. Osei Bonsu Amoah, Minister of State at the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, explained that this decision was made in accordance with Article 243 (3) (b) of the Constitution and Section 20 (3) (b) of the Local Governance Act 2016 (Act 936).

The statement further directed Mr. Awume to facilitate a smooth handover of his duties to Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister. Dr. Letsa will oversee the operations of the Assembly until the confirmation of the new MCE by the Hohoe Municipal Assembly.

The revocation of Mr. Awume's appointment and the nomination of Mr. Fiakpui signify a transition in leadership within the Hohoe Municipal Assembly, as the government seeks to ensure effective governance and administration in the region.
