Lands Minister urges women in mining to seize training opportunities for leadership roles

Samuel Abu Jinapor, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, has encouraged Women in the Mining industry to take full advantage of available training opportunities to enhance their capacities for assuming pivotal decision-making positions. Speaking at the National Policy Dialogue of Women in Mining Ghana in Accra, the Minister stressed the importance of fostering opportunities for women across all facets of the industry, particularly in administrative roles, ranging from entry-level positions to leadership roles.

Emphasizing the significance of training and education support, especially in fields such as geology and chemical engineering, Minister Jinapor underscored the government's commitment to collaborating with women in mining and other stakeholders to drive substantive changes towards fostering inclusivity and fostering a prosperous mining sector.

Minister Jinapor urged Women in Mining to prioritize training, highlighting that inclusion entails equipping women with the necessary skills to participate actively in every stage of the mining process. He reiterated the government's determination to align policies with the needs of women in mining, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts to enhance inclusivity and promote women's success in the sector.

In line with the vision of International Women's Day celebrations, Minister Jinapor stressed the imperative of investing in women's empowerment. He applauded Women in Mining Ghana for their advocacy efforts and commitment to upholding industry values, emphasizing the necessity of promoting policies and practices that support gender equality and create opportunities for women to advance their careers.

Minister Jinapor concluded by emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and justice in broadening participation in the mining industry. He called for collective action to promote a culture of respect and inclusivity within mining companies, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to empower women and create an enabling environment for their advancement in the sector.
