LDS Charities donates GH¢ 900,000 worth of medical equipment to Foase Health Centre

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Charities, a humanitarian division of the church, has generously contributed medical equipment to the Foase Health Centre located in the Atwima Kwanwoma District.

Facilitated by the Member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma, Mr. Kofi Amankwah-Manu, this donation is set to enhance the facility's service delivery capabilities.

The assortment of medical equipment, valued at GHC 900,000, encompasses a haematology analyzer, autoclaves, vaccine refrigerators, laboratory machinery, glucometer machines, sphygmomanometers (BP Machines), thermometers, oxygen concentrators, medical examination lamps, infant care devices, hospital beds, incubators, and ICU patient monitors.

During the handover event, Mr. Amankwah-Manu emphasized that the gesture from the church aimed to bolster the quality of healthcare at the health centre.

He expressed gratitude for the church's substantial contribution to the development of Atwima Kwanwoma, spanning health, education, water, and sanitation sectors.

As the Deputy Minister of Defence and MP, he urged healthcare professionals to responsibly maintain and effectively utilize the equipment, not only benefiting residents of Foase but also those in adjacent districts.

Mr. Amankwah-Manu pledged to uphold his commitment to equitable resource distribution, fostering a better Atwima Kwanwoma.

Mr. Prince Karikari, the District Chief Executive (DCE), lauded the continuous support of the church for aligning with the developmental agenda of the Assembly, benefitting the people of Atwima Kwanwoma.

Mr. Isaac Nkrumah, President of the Suame Area of the Church, explained that the donation fulfilled the vision of the church and the MP's office to bolster the facility's core mandate.

He highlighted the church's worldwide efforts in assisting approximately 190 countries, fostering self-reliance and caring for communities.

Mr. Joseph Adomako, the District Director of Health Services, pledged to ensure the donated items effectively served their intended purpose, improving health delivery in the area.

He appealed for support from the Assembly and the Church to renovate and equip deteriorating health facilities in the district, further enhancing quality healthcare services.
