Vice President Bawumia commends MTN for driving Ghana’s digitalization efforts during MTN Group’s stakeholder dinner

MTN Ghana recently hosted the Board of Directors of the MTN Group and members of the MTN Group's Executive Committee for a two-day strategy session in Accra.

The MTN Group delegation, led by Board Chairman Mcebisi Hubert Jonas and President/CEO Ralph Mupita, engaged stakeholders in Ghana to reaffirm MTN's commitment to partnerships and stakeholders.

As part of the engagements, MTN Ghana organized a Stakeholder Dinner attended by a diverse range of private and public sector stakeholders, including government ministers and leaders of state institutions. Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was the special guest of honour at the event.

During the dinner, the importance of strategic partnerships in creating shared value and driving sustainable growth was highlighted by various speakers, including the Vice President of Ghana, the Board Chairman of MTN Group, and the Board Chairman of MTN Ghana.

Vice President Bawumia praised MTN for its strategic role in Ghana's digitalization efforts and emphasized the government's focus on technological investments to modernize the economy and enhance global competitiveness.

Mcebisi Hubert Jonas, the Board Chair of MTN Group, emphasized the significance of long-term partnerships between governments and companies like MTN for driving growth and innovation in Africa.

Dr Ishmael Yamson, the Board Chairman of MTN Ghana, underscored the importance of a strong and positive collaborative relationship between government and business for sustainable development.

As part of their visit, members of the MTN Group Board also conducted field visits to the market, interacting with customer agents, traders, and customers to gather feedback on MTN's services.

The strategy session and stakeholder engagements in Accra provided an opportunity for MTN Group to reinforce its commitment to Ghana and foster partnerships that contribute to the country's socio-economic development.
