Three killed in Sprinter bus crash near Awoshie Water Works

Tragedy struck on Sunday morning as a 23-seater Sprinter Bus with registration number GR-6046-21, traveling from Ablekuma to Kasoa, experienced a burst tyre, leading to a fatal crash.

Three individuals lost their lives in the incident, and numerous other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bus was travelling at high speed when the accident occurred.

The vehicle somersaulted three times on the George Walker Bush Highway near Awoshie Water Works, resulting in the tragic outcome.

Prompt emergency response was initiated, with both the police and ambulance services present at the scene to transport the deceased individuals and injured passengers to the hospital for medical attention.

One witness shared with Citi News that the driver of the bus managed to escape without any injuries.

However, the driver attempted to flee the scene, but the police swiftly apprehended him.
