President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of Ghana has extended his congratulations to President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone on his re-election for a second term in office.

In a congratulatory message, President Akufo-Addo praised the Sierra Leonean people for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the presidential election held on June 24, 2023, stating that it strengthened the country's commitment to multiparty democracy.

President Bio was declared the winner of the election with 56.17% of the vote by the head of the electoral commission of Sierra Leone.

President Akufo-Addo also commended Dr Samura Kamara and the All Peoples Congress for their participation in the well-fought electioneering campaign.

The Ghanaian President expressed his eagerness to continue working with President Maada Bio in his second term, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the strong ties of friendship and cooperation between Ghana and Sierra Leone.

He emphasized their shared agenda of development, prosperity, and commitment to good governance and the rule of law.
