Krachi: Hit-and-run driver claims life of woman in tragic accident

The Krachi East Motor Traffic and Transport Division (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service is currently conducting an investigation into the unfortunate death of a 55-year-old woman who was fatally struck by a hit-and-run Driver.

The incident occurred on the outskirts of KpareKpare, a farming community located in Dambai of the Oti Region, on the evening of Thursday, June 1.

Sergeant Zakaria Asharift, a member of the MTTD, informed the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.

Confirming the details, Sergeant Asharift stated that the victim, identified as Ama Wete, sustained head injuries after being hit by an unidentified vehicle.

Following the accident, the deceased was rushed to the WoraWora Government Hospital for a postmortem examination. Once the examination is completed, the body will be released to the family for burial arrangements.

In the wake of the tragic incident, the police are appealing to the public for any assistance in identifying the driver responsible for the hit-and-run. Individuals with information that can lead to the apprehension of the suspect are encouraged to report to the nearest police station.
