Ibrahimpur Village located in Siddipet Mandal is now transformed into a model village for sustainable development. It is with the strong intention of the villagers to transform their village into a model village.

The villagers have taken some great initiatives like outside defecation-free, implementing clean and green initiatives, etc. With the collective spirit, the villagers have now attained such a high point where not only Telangana, but the entire India is taking inspiration from Ibrahimpur today. This village developmental program is led by Telangana Irrigation Minister Tanneru Harish Rao,

The village was declared the first village to go leading in the developmental activities in South India. The story of development in Ibrahimpur only keeps getting better every day.

Ibrahimpur is the first ever village to go cashless in South India. 

The village has a population of 1200 people and it has been declared a ‘cashless transactions village’. It is when the district administration opened accounts for all villagers who did not have them. The administration gave them debit cards and set up swipe machines in shops and micro ATMs in ration shops. Village sarpanch Kumbala Yella Reddy said, “All residents of the village contributed to making it a ‘cashless village’.”

Ibrahimpur becomes the first ‘mosquito-free’ village in State.

For the first time in the Telangana State, Ibrahimpur village in Siddipet has become a ‘mosquito-free’ village. This unique milestone was possible with the construction of the ‘soak pits’ (water harvesting). This process of construction and the resulting getting visible took about three months.

All 265 households in the village got the soak pits constructed on the premises of their house. By this method, even a single drop of water doesn’t come out of the house onto the road. Therefore, there will be no stagnation of water and it reduces musquito count in the village.

D. Ronald Rose, the Collector of the district in a press conference here on Saturday mentioned that “the ‘magic pits’ model would be implemented across the State under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS)”.

Moreover, Ibrahimpur village is one of the few villages in Telangana having 100 percent water harvesting facilities and toilets in every house. During the Haritha Haram program conducted in the village, the villagers have planted a massive amount of two lakh saplings resulting in increased green cover in the village. It has led to decreased pollution and increased underground water level in the village. 

The Constituency Development Fund offered Rs 10 lakh incentives to the village in the form of a development fund. The irrigation minister had given 10 lakh rupees for being the first village in the state to go cashless. The second and third villages will receive incentives of Rs 5 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively.

Ibrahimpur village is less when it comes to maintaining cleanliness. No garbage is strewn around, and not even a plastic cover or pet bottle is seen. The villagers maintain clean lanes and good sanitary practices. The roads here are cleaned thrice a day and this is being done for the past two years. Because cleanliness has become a regular practice, the village has not reported any viral fever cases for the past several months. 

The ‘water conservation pit (Inkudu Gunta)’ installed at every house is possible with the active involvement of resident K. Yella Reddy who is the son of Sarpanch K. Lakshmi Yadamma, an automobile engineering diploma holder from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. The pits are constructed four feet by four and six feet deep. Mr. Yella Reddy said that “The result is extraordinary. We made our village a model for constructing water pits. We are able to grow saplings where we constructed those pits”.
