Nasarawa Assembly partners First Lady office on women inclusion, well-being of children, vulnerable.

Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, has entered into effective partnership with the office of the State First Lady Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, wife to Governor Abdullahi Sule.

The committee members and the State First Lady expressed their readiness to ensure that the welfare of Women, children and other vulnerable groups in the society are adequately taking care of and captured in the budget.

Hon. Hajara Danyaro Ibrahim the Chairman of the committee gave the assurance when she led other members of the committee on a familiarization visit to the state first lady in her office in Lafia today.

Hon Hajara said that the visit was to familiarize themselves with the first lady and to partner with her in order to promote the welfare of women, children and other vulnerable groups in the state.

” We are here to familiarize ourselves with you and to assure you of our readiness to work with you to better the standard of living of the women, children and other less privileged ” she said.

“The committee is not just for the women as the name implies because there is no any household without a woman, we are the House and the mothers, as a man you have wife or daughter or sister and above all a mother so we belong to all” She added.

The lawmaker also assured of the committee readiness to support the first lady to succeed.

Responding, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule appreciated the committee for the visit and sought for partnership for the development of the women folk and other vulnerable groups in the state.

She urged the committee to give adequate attention to the welfare of women in the state.

“after 12 years we are proud again to have a woman at the hallowed chamber, not just a woman but an outstanding advocate who is doing great and making us happy”

The State First Lady expressed satisfaction with the caliber of people that constituted the committee and assured them of full support.
