Ohanaeze lauds FG’s approval for concrete technology on road construction project in Nigeria

The highest socio-cultural group in igbo land, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, on Thursday, applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the recent approval of cement and Concrete Technology for construction of Road pavement in southeast and across all parts of the country.

Ohanaeze noted that the presidential nod was expectations of majority population of Nigerian citizens after a r parley between the Nigerian leader and the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi held recently in Abuja.
In a release issued to newsmen on Thursday by the Secretary- General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Ohanaeze also lauded president’s approval on construction works on coastal roads from Port-harcourt-Lagos, traversing the north, west and central geographical zones of Nigeria, and as well, construction of another super highway
According to the pan-igbo ethnic organisation, “Speaking on major expectations of ndigbo from Tinubu’s presidency which is the urgent need of infrastructural development in the face of dilapidated road network and ugly condition of most federal expressways in southeast.
“The federal government’s approval of construction of road pavement for cement and concrete technology is essential to enhance economic and social activities in every parts of the country”, It stated.
Ohanaeze further lauded the working partnership between the federal government and southeast governors to rebuild and bequeath motorable highways in the zone that will stand the test of time.
The group also called for additional funding of road Infrastructural projects through creation of NNPC Road intervention funds for the federal ministry of works in order to actualize her set goal by ensuring durable, motorable and safe roads in every parts of the country.
According to the apex igbo body, “Since the records showed the Ministry inherited a total of 2604 projects worths fourteen trillion naira. And for 18000 kilometers approach, after four trillion naira is disbursed, that additional ten billion naira is needed and four trillion naira can be sourced, and six trillion is still needed.
“Ndigbo will equally appeal to the President for the approval of seventeen more construction of road projects across the country, inclusively, southeast zone”It also posited.
Ohanaeze used the medium to thank President Bola Tinubu for recent nomination of the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr Dave Nweze Umahi, as Nigerian Minister of Works and all other quality of ministers from southeast zone he equally appointed and also confirmed by the national assembly to serve as members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) under his leadership in Nigeria.
