GURUGRAM: A Rolls Royce Phantom snuffed out the lives of two, in a case of road rage, after it collided with a truck in Haryana’s Nuh – that has grappled with communal clashes since last month– on Tuesday even as the police has launched a manhunt to locate the driver.

At least three occupants of the luxurious sedan, registered in Maharashtra, are nursing grievous injuries at Medanta hospital in Gurugram. The white sedan, MH01DZ00001, was registered with a Mumbai-based company Nexus Ventures Private Limited

Haryana Police have registered a case of negligent driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder against the occupants but have not named anyone in the FIR yet. The two people who died on the spot were inside a stationary truck. Rampreet, and his assistant Kuldeep belong to Ambedkar Nagar and Ayodhya.

According to the FIR, a copy of which is with The New Indian, the complainant Munil Yadav, who was present inside a moving truck on a parallel track, the Phantom was speeding at 230 km/hour.

The victims were employees of infrastructure development and construction firm IFFCO Infratek Private Limited. Sources in the Haryana Police said that cops may call Yadav, who is from Azamgarh, to identify the driver. Yadav also works for IFFCO Infratek Private Limited. According to an eyewitness, there were 7-8 cars of which Phantom was part of. Other members of the convoy came to rescue the Rolls-Royce passengers. It is not clear if the airbags in Rolls Royce helped save the lives of occupants.
