Dekalb (GA) Rifles Celebrate Southern Heritage

(Jackson County Sentinel) – The Dekalb Rifles Camp 1824, Sons of Confederate Veterans held their monthly meeting on July 10, 2023. 75 people were in attendance for the meeting. Section High School student Wyatt Gray stands on the trailer with a Confederate Submarine Hunley replica. The display is a half-size model belonging to Rev. Jack Cowart, who was the keynote speaker at the July meeting.

Rev. Cowart is the Commander of the 9th Georgia Brigade. His lecture was on the building, experimenting and use of the first submarine to sink a battleship. He brought the half-size replica of the Confederate Submarine and spoke on its history.
