In pursuit of ECO-FRIENDLY ganesh FESTIVAL

“I have been making Clay Ganesh murtis for over 25 years now. We have already received bulk orders from housing societies across Hyderabad for eco-friendly Ganesh Idols this time.

Back in the early ’90s, the demand for these eco-friendly idols was minimal. We still adapted to the making of clay Ganeshas even though the income wasn’t high. Thankfully, today people understand the need to opt for environment-friendly idols.

The process of making these Kolkata clay idols is not easy. However, we ensure that the idols are made to suit customer requirements. Initially, we would make 30-40, four feet tall idols.

This year, we made around 3000 idols and with god’s grace, we are hoping to make good returns after losses for two consecutive years due to Covid two years ago.

These clay idols celebrate nature and I hope our festivities sensitise people about being compassionate towards each other and the planet we live on.”
