Keerti Laila, a tribal lady from Nilvai village, was admitted to the hospital when her childbirth pains became more severe. She had a cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy child. Her health began to deteriorate after she was discharged, and she had difficulty urinating.
Keerti’s condition deteriorated in the days that followed, causing her relatives to rush her to another government hospital in Chennur. During the initial surgery, a Medical Cotton Pad had been left inside her body, physicians discovered. Keerti’s health suffered as a result of her carelessness.
Following surgical operation to remove the foreign object, Keerti’s health began to recover. The tragedy has aroused public and community indignation, with many seeking responsibility and action against the negligent doctor.
