Due to the unveiling of the 125-foot statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar near Hussain Sagar, the following traffic diversions are expected to be implemented on Friday from 1 pm to 8 pm.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will unveil the statue, followed by a public meeting behind the I-Max theatre, Necklace Rotary.
The city police have recommended that commuters using Necklace Road be aware of the following Traffic diversions.
Traffic will be prohibited between the VV Statue – Necklace Rotary – NTR Marg and the Telugu Thalli Junction, as well as vice versa.
Traffic heading towards Necklace Rotary from Khairatabad/Panjagutta/Somajiguda will be diverted at VV Statue towards Shadan – Nirankari.
Traffic heading from Tankbund to PVNR Marg will not be allowed and will be diverted at Sonabi Mosque towards Ranigunj/Karbala.
Traffic from Rasoolpura/Minister Road to Necklace Rotary via Nallagutta will be stopped and will be diverted to Ranigunj at Nallagutta Junction.
Traffic arriving from Iqbal Minar Junction and wishing to drive towards Tankbund – Ranigunj and Liberty would be directed to take the Telugu Thalli flyover – Katta Maisamma Junction – Lower Tankbund instead.
Traffic from Tankbund and Telugu Thalli seeking to travel to NTR Marg will be redirected at Telugu Thalli Junction to Iqbal Minar Junction.
Traffic from BRKR Bhavan to NTR Marg will be stopped and diverted at Telugu Thalli Junction to Iqbal Minar Junction.
Traffic from Iqbal Minar Junction to the Mint compound lane will not be allowed.
Traffic traveling from Khairatabad Bada Ganesh Lane to Printing Press Junction or Necklace Rotary will be redirected to Rajdooth Lane.
It is also worth mentioning that NTR Garden, NTR Ghat, Necklace Road, and Lumbini Park will be closed on Friday.
RTC buses traveling from Afzalgunj to Secunderabad should avoid the Tank Bund road and instead take the Telugu Thalli Flyover, Katta Maisamma, Lower Tank Bund, DBR Mills, and Kavadiguda routes.
Traffic congestion is predicted at the VV Statue (Khairatabad) Junction, Old Saifabad PS Junction, Ravindra Bharathi Junction, Mint Compound Road, Telugu Thalli Junction, Necklace Rotary, Nallagutta Junction, Katta Maisamma (Lower Tankbund) Tank Bund, and Liberty.
