Telangana: Every tourist spot to hoist the national flag

Tourism destinations throughout Telangana will hoist the national flag during the Swathantra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu, which is said to be held from August 8 to 22.

Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud has ordered the department to organize special programs to attract tourists. In order to finalize the celebration action plan, he met with officials from the tourism, sports, and cultural departments on Monday.

The State’s tourist spots, historic monuments, and heritage sites should be illuminated with attractive lighting, he said.

During the 15-day celebrations, the Cultural Department will conduct special programs at Ravindra Bharathi, including dance, drama, music, art, and Kavi Sammelan, which depicts patriotism and National integration.

To motivate youth to pursue sports careers, the Sports Department was instructed to organize sports events at the mandal, district, and state levels.

On August 2, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao convened a meeting with the Swatantra Bharath Vajrotsava Celebrations Committee headed by K Keshava Rao to discuss the modalities and implementation of the two-week celebrations starting from August 8, being organized by the state government to mark Independence Day.

Celebrations across the state will mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence in the city. Flag manufacturers and traders are getting ready to cash in on the likely demand for the National Flag in the wake of the Union government’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which encourages people to bring the tricolor home.

A review of the preparations was conducted by Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, including the distribution of one-crore national flags to all households in the State. To ensure a successful program without any glitches, he asked officials to work closely together. A detailed program had already been drafted by a high-level Vajrotsava Committee.

Ministers, MLAs, and other public representatives would attend the inaugural session on August 8. Throughout the State, special programs will be held on National Integration. All cinema halls will screen free feature and documentary films on patriotism and national integration for schoolchildren, he announced.
