As per the latest updates, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today said the arrangement of the new Chief of Defense Staff or CDS will be made soon and that the interaction for it is in progress.

The post of Chief of Defense Staff has been lying vacant since General Bipin Rawat’s demise in a helicopter crash on December 8 last year.

“The arrangement of the CDS will be made soon. The interaction for it is in progress,” the Defense Minister said during a media preparation here on the rollout of the “Agnipath” enrollment plot for the military.

Recently, the government provided warnings, augmenting the determination pool for the top position. As indicated by the new principles, any serving or resigned lieutenant general, air marshal and bad habit naval commander younger than 62 years will be qualified for arrangement to the post of Chief of Defense Staff.

The three-star officials are presently qualified to turn into the Chief of Defense Staff, alongside the serving heads of the three administrations, as indicated by the progressions made to the Army, Air Force and Navy Acts.
