Farmers Attempt to Enter Delhi by Breaking Blockades at Ghazipur

New Delhi: Agitating farmers on the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border close to Ghazipur on Tuesday attempted to enter the national capital by breaking the blockades. Nonetheless, they were before long pacified by their own leaders.

The farmers are protesting at many borders of Delhi since Friday over three agricultural laws passed by Parliament in September this year. The farmers are demanding the laws to be repealed.

On Monday morning, Delhi Police set up concrete barriers at Ghazipur, Delhi-Ghaziabad border after farmer leaders said they will obstruct more highways connecting Delhi besides from Tikri and Singhu borders where they’ve been camping since Friday.

On Sunday night, a short ruckus was furthermore reported from Ghazipur border where farmers attempted to push the police blockades however were placated by their leaders.

Police said they are closely observing the situation at Delhi-Gurugram, Delhi-Noida and Delhi-Faridabad border regions additionally and that the security is being kept up as required.

On Sunday, farmer leaders sitting at Singhu Border since Friday conducted a press briefing and declared that they will obstruct three additional borders to be heard.

These farmers had marched up to Delhi on Friday however were not permitted to enter the city, prompting fierce conflicts among them and the Delhi Police.
