We spend most of our time in deciding what to eat and what to not. So, shouldn’t we concern it for our dogs too?

Just like humans, dogs like to eat a wide range of foods. So why not beans?

ARE BEANS GOOD FOR DOGS?

Beans contain an ample number of calories that your dog need for his daily work and consumption.

RECIPE 1:   TURKEY MEATBALLS

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Pound left over turkey (do remove skin and bone)
  • 1 cup of veggies (peas, green beans and carrots)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 table spoon of low-fat yogurt½ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Preheat your oven over 400˚F
  2. Mash the turkey in food processor a couple of times.
  3. Add rolled oats and pulse until all of it is in smaller pieces
  4. Add egg and yogurt and pulse until the mixture is well combined
  5. Transfer the mixed content in large bowl
  6. Add veggies and parsley and mix using hands to make even mixture
  7. Roll them into balls and place them on parchment paper
  8. Bake it in the oven for 20 minutes until golden brown.

RECIPE 2: GREEN BEAN BISCUITS

INGREDIENTS:

  • ½ Cup fresh green beans
  • ½ Cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 Table spoon apple sauce
  • ¼ Cup warm milk
  • 1 apple
  • 2 Cup frozen green beans
  • ¼ Cup beef bullion
  • ¼ Cup dry oat meal
  • 3 Table spoon vegetable oil
  • 1 Cup flour
  • ¼ Cup plus 2 table spoons molasses
  • 1 Cup flex seeds
  • ¾ Cup whole wheat flour

HOW TO MAKE?

  1. Place ½ cup of fresh green beans, 3 tablespoon apple sauce, shredded cheese and vegetable oil into food processor and mix it
  2. Pour content into a big bowl and add 1 cup flour and knead it
  3. Add ¼ cup of milk to soften the dough
  4. Roll the dough with a rolling pin about ½ inch thick Cut the dough into shapes and place on parchment paper
  5. Bake them at 325-degree Fahrenheit.
  6. Cool them a bit before serving

BEAN VS MEAT

CAN I FEED MY DOG BEANS AND NO MEAT?

Meat is as important to your dog as beans. Meat is rich in protein and iron and so are beans.

Beans contain vitamins for example A and K whereas meat especially white meat is full of Omega-3 which is good for your dog’s fur.

Neither beans nor only meat can provide all essential nutrients needed by your dog. Both of these together balance your dog’s diet.

Depending upon your dog’s health and vet’s suggestion feed your dog with both beans and meat. Dogs daily routine requires a high amount of energy that could be fulfilled by both meat and beans together. This will be beneficial for your dog and your dog won’t get bore of his same diet every day.
