World News : Times are changing fast but even today sons are given more importance than daughters. After India's crackdown on fetal testing, people are now turning to Nepal. Along with Pithoragarh of Uttarakhand, many people from other districts are reaching different cities of Nepal every day for gender test. Gender test of pregnant women is being done for around 10 thousand rupees. People who undergo gender testing are those who have had two or more daughters before.

Baitdi is situated at a distance of about 22 km from Joolaghat for the people of the border. Due to this, most of the people are getting the pregnant women checked here. According to sources, a man arrived in Nepal Baitadi for a pregnancy test after his wife became pregnant.

Investigation is done in Nepal without any documents

System has made Aadhaar card mandatory for ultrasound in India. There is no such provision in Nepal i.e. one can go to any hospital and get himself checked without any documents. Fetal testing is done in many cities except Baitadi in Nepal. Border people are also going to Nepal for pregnancy test. People are being appealed not to do this. Some time ago some people from India are reaching here on the pretext of health checkup but they are getting pregnancy test there. People are being made aware.
