New York tops top-50 cities, India's only Mumbai included, survey of 20,000 people

Best Cities In The World: Global media and hospitality business group 'Time Out' has released a list of the best cities in the world in the year 2024. In which the American city of New York has been on top in this list. While in this list of top-50 countries, only the city of Mumbai has managed to get a place in India.

Which country ranks second?

South Africa's Cape Town is second in the list. London is then third, Berlin fourth and Madrid fifth. Mumbai, the only city in India to make it to the list, is ranked 12th. New York is ranked number one for its food, cultural diversity and fantastic nightlife.

How was this survey conducted?

Time Out's ranking this year is based on public surveys and expert insights provided on behalf of its international team. About 20,000 urban residents were surveyed for that.

Why was the list made?

The purpose of creating the best cities list is to show the experience of living in different cities of the world and give a glimpse of the unique things there. To compile the list, this year Time Out also asked locals how their city made them feel and whether it was easy to make social connections there.
