At least 39 people have Died and nine others have been injured in a Fire accident in eastern China's Jiangxi province.

Many people are still feared to be trapped in the building. The local government news agency quoted the fire brigade as saying that a fire broke out in a shop in Xinyue city of Jiangxi province. On seeing it, it assumed a monstrous form and spread throughout the building. Due to which 39 people have died.

A video of the fire has also gone viral on social media. In which smoke can be seen coming out of the multi-storied building and hundreds of fire fighters and ambulances are present at the site.

The building that caught fire housed an internet cafe and a coaching institute and the death toll has increased due to this.

Like India, China is lax in enforcing safety norms in buildings, and as a result, fire incidents are common.

On January 20, a fire broke out in a school hostel in China's Henan province, killing 13 students. In November last year, 26 people died in an office fire in Shaksi province.
