Kyiv: More than 25 people have been killed in an attack on a market outside the Russian-occupied Ukrainian city of Donetsk on Sunday. More than two children were killed in Sunday's attack on a market on the outskirts of the textile city, local officials reported. The Russian government in Donetsk said the shelling was carried out by the Ukrainian army.

A Ukrainian drone attack on a terminal at the port of Ust-Luga caused a gas tank explosion, according to a Russian government official. The attack caused heavy damage to the natural gas terminal.

On the other hand, the Russian government is preparing to introduce legislation to quell the protests in the country.

According to a report, Russia's parliament will consider legislation allowing the confiscation of assets of people who spread false information against military operations.

The figures were released by the Ukrainian army on Sunday. According to him, 3,76,030 Russian soldiers have died from February, 2022 to January 21, 2024. Whereas, they have destroyed Russia's 6,181 tanks, 11,466 armored vehicles, 8,875 artillery pieces, 968 rocket systems, 655 air defense systems, 6,936 drones, 331 military jets, 324 helicopters, 1,818 cruise missiles, 23 warships, 1 submarine, 11,862 vehicles and 1,392 special equipments have been destroyed.

Ukrainian President Zelensky said that Ukraine is expecting more defense package with Western countries. On the other hand, the wife of a Russian soldier made an emotional appeal from Russian President Vladimir Putin's election headquarters for the country's troops to return from Ukraine. Notably, open criticism of the war is prohibited in Russia.
