Pannun Murder Plot: Nikhil Gupta may soon get relief in the matter of plotting the murder of Khalistan terrorist Gurupatwant Singh Pannun in America. A US court has ordered the government to respond to a petition filed by Nikhil Gupta's lawyers. Gupta's lawyers have sought material related to the charges against him in the conspiracy.

The American court struck down the Biden government

On 4 January 2024, the defense counsel filed a document seeking motion with the court requesting that the court issue an order ordering the government to hand over the relevant documents to the defense counsel. US District Judge Victor Marrero ordered that the government respond within three days.

Nikhil Gupta accused of conspiring to kill Pannu

Nikhil Gupta, an Indian citizen, was accused by US officials of conspiring to kill Khalista terrorist Gurupatwant Singh Pannu. Nikhil was arrested from the Czech Republic on June 30 at the request of the US government. He is currently in the custody of the American police. American federal prosecutors have alleged that Gupta was working with an Indian government official to plot the murder of Pannu, who holds dual US and Canadian citizenship.

Gupta, 52, from India, has been charged with hiring a hitman, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
