In Iran, the government has prepared a new dress code. Which will apply not only to Women but also to men. Iran's parliament has passed a bill regarding it.
According to the provisions of this bill, women cannot wear tight clothes and men will also have to wear clothes as per the new dress code.
Women can be jailed for up to ten years if found guilty of going without a hijab. The bill was supported by almost all MPs.
The bill passed by Iran's parliament will now be placed before the Guardian Council. This council is a group of legal experts and clerics. It becomes a new law after whoever approves it. In Iran's parliament, 152 votes were cast in favor of this law and 34 votes were cast against it. Seven MPs did not participate in the voting.
The bill was passed at a time when women in the country were outraged over the death of activist Mahsa Amini, who protested against the ban on women in Iran.
Amini was detained for not wearing hijab and died in police custody under mysterious circumstances. After that, women protested against the hijab in Iran. On whom the police took strict action and many protestors were killed.
After several days of protests, the Iranian government has passed a bill to strictly enforce the hijab law. This bill also has a provision to ban women from Wearing Tight Clothes. The new law also stipulates that adult women must cover their hair with a hijab and wear long and loose clothing to hide their bodies.
