Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's son Udayanidhi Stalin's statement on Sanatan Dharma has created a controversy. Meanwhile, Madras High Court of Tamil Nadu made an important observation about Sanatan Dharma and said that Sanatan Dharma only promotes casteism and discrimination. In a country of equal citizens casteism or casteism should not be tolerated but Sanatan Dharma is not just casteism and casteism, this religion has a wider meaning. At the same time, the High Court said that freedom of expression is not meant to spread hatred in the society in the name of religion or in any other way.

Madras High Court Judge N. A petition came up for hearing before Seshashayi, in which the petitioner contended that a circular was issued by a college in Tamil Nadu seeking the opinion of students on whether they should oppose Sanatana Dharma. An application was filed in the High Court against this circular. During the hearing of which, the High Court said that the court is watching the ongoing controversy regarding Sanatan Dharma. When free speech is exercised in matters related to religion, the person giving such speeches or statements should consider that no other person should be disturbed by it, free speech should not be turned into a taboo.

The court also said that somewhere it has been emphasized that Sanatan Dharma only and only promotes casteism and discrimination. Casteism and casteism cannot be tolerated in this country of equal citizens, even if casteism and casteism are allowed in the principles of Sanatan Dharma, they cannot be practiced, because casteism has been abolished only when the Constitution was framed. Along with this, the High Court said that Sanatan Dharma is a set of eternal duties, in which all duties like duty to the country, duties of the ruler to the people, duties to the ruler of the people, duties to one's parents or gurus, care or supervision of the poor were included in the Sanatan Dharma. is

The court further added that as the religious practices progressed with time, some bad practices also got incorporated into the religion, which is a fact that needs to be removed. However, the crop cannot be harvested due to this weed. The High Court finally said during the hearing of this application that the college circular, which has been objected to, has been withdrawn by the college, so the dispute has no place. The court also clarified that freedom of expression should not be for hatred or incitement.
