There has been an alarming rise in suicide cases in the Central Reserve Police Force - CRPF, the world's largest central armed force. In the last 23 days, 10 CRPF jawans have committed suicide. This incident has been reported in different states... The increasing number of suicides of CRPF jawans and personnel in the last few years is becoming a matter of concern. A total of 194 incidents of suicide have been reported in CRPF between 2018 and 2022.

An inspector level officer of Cobra Force also committed suicide
The 10 deaths in the last 23 days have been reported in various CRPF branches. These suicide incidents took place in places like Special Wing, Anti-Naxal Unit Cobra and Jammu-Kashmir Unit, Assam, Odisha and Jharkhand, Pulwama and Srinagar. The suicides also include the death of an inspector-level officer of the Cobra Force.
Most CRPF jawans committed suicide in 2021
According to official data, there has been an alarming rise in suicides among CRPF personnel during the 5-year period from 2018 to 2021. In 2018, 36 jawans committed suicide, followed by 40 in 2019, 54 in 2020, 57 in 2021 and 43 in 2022.
A total of 34 suicides this year so far
This year, between August 12 and September 4, 10 jawans have committed suicide. According to the data, a total of 34 suicide incidents have been reported in the CRPF this year so far.
