New Delhi: A huge controversy has arisen in the Tamil Nadu government over the statement given by Minister Udayanidhi regarding Sanatan Dharma. By raising this issue, BJP is now raising questions on the opposition Grand Alliance India. Due to which the 'India' alliance has come on the backfoot. Congress came to the rescue and said that we respect every religion. However, every individual and party has the freedom to express their views. Mamata Banerjee also opposed Udayanidhi saying that we should respect every religion and should not make statements that hurt anyone's sentiments.

Controversy about Sanatan Dharma has increased, Congress has clarified, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that the stand of Congress is very clear, Sarvadharma Sambhava is the ideology of Congress. However, we also need to understand that each party has its own way of presenting its opinion. We respect everyone's faith. However, when Mallikarjun Kharge's son Priyank Kharge was asked about the DMK government minister's statement, he said that a religion that does not give equal rights to everyone is not a religion.

Due to which now BJP is also raising questions on Congress which is associated with this alliance.

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Nitish Kumar, Mamata, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Why is Stalin's son and minister silent on Udayanidhi's statement? Are you playing with the sentiments of Hindus for votes? These people should know that even Islamic and British rulers could not destroy Sanatan Dharma. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak himself calls himself Sanatani. When Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that the meeting of the opposition India in Mumbai was held for the agenda of destroying Sanatan Dharma? Is this the shop of your love? On the other hand, Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai challenged Udayanidhi saying that if he has the courage, he should stop his mother Durga from going to temples.

After the controversial statement on Sanatan Dharma, there have been defamation cases against Udayanidhi in Delhi and then in Mumbai as well. Cases are likely to occur from other regions as well. The complainant had also said that, 'When Udayanidhi talks about other religions, let him see what kind of sword is hanging over him.'
