New Delhi: The Supreme Court has banned words promoting discrimination or inequality against women. A rulebook has been announced by the Supreme Court for this. Chief Justice D.Y. This decision has been taken on Chandrachud's initiative. This rulebook will be applicable in every court of the country. The Supreme Court has advised all courts to avoid using disparate terms that discriminate against women. These prohibited words include prostitute, house wife etc.

Chief Justice Chandrachud of the Supreme Court said that orthodoxy is more harmful to women. Against which this handbook has been prepared to raise awareness. It clarifies where stereotype words are and needs to be avoided. The book also explains where to use alternative words against words that are stereotyped. Words that are advised to stay away from include words like unwed mother, housewife, affair, as well as prostitute. Such words cannot be used in court orders, documents, law books useful in court etc.

This list has been prepared in two categories, on the one hand, the prohibited words and on the other hand, information has been given on which words to use instead. Just like the word homemaker will be used in place of housewife, similarly the words will be used in place of prostitute, sex worker in place of eve teasing, street sexual harassment in place of bastard, child born of an illegitimate couple etc. This handbook of around 30 pages will be implemented in every court. These words cannot be used in court. So it has to be taken care of by lawyers also. This handbook has also been uploaded on the website of the Supreme Court.
