The winning candidate of TMC in the Gram Panchayat elections has been shot dead in the dark of night. The incident took place on Friday night in Arjunpur area of ​​Magrahat East Gram Panchayat of South 24 Parganas. The name of the deceased is Maimur Gharami.

He was a member of Trinamool Congress, the ruling party that won the panchayat elections. Maimur was a 3-time Vijayi Panchayat member from Magrahat East Gram Panchayat. He also won this year's panchayat elections on a Trinamool ticket.

Apart from Maimur, his neighbor Shah Jahan Molla was also shot in this incident. He has been admitted to hospital in critical condition. The police of Magrahat police station have arrested one person in this incident. Police are patrolling in Arjunpur area since morning.

Maimur was attacked by Dabangos while returning home

According to information received, Maimur was returning home after finishing work on Friday night. Some unknown miscreants cornered him a short distance from the house. Allegedly, the miscreants fired indiscriminately at Maimur and then attacked him with sharp weapons.

Hearing Maimur's voice, Maimur's neighbor Shah Jahan came to save him. Shah Jahan was also allegedly shot. Both were then taken to Diamond Harbor District Hospital for treatment in a critical condition. Where the doctors declared Maimur dead.

There is a mobile shop in Maimur's Magrahat Bazar. Maimur was also in the business of buying and selling land. The primary assumption of the police in this matter is that the murder is related to this business.
